Both figures came from HPLC. An HPLC purity result covers identity and purity of the material in the tested lot. It does not measure sterility, endotoxin or heavy metals, and it describes that lot rather than everything sharing a label. We hold each report and send it on request.

NAD+ is not a peptide, and the category name shouldn't pretend it is

NAD+ is nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, a coenzyme present in every living cell. It's built from two nucleotides, not from amino acids joined by peptide bonds.1 It sits in this category because that's where buyers look for it, not because it belongs to the same chemical class as everything else on this site.

NAD+ is also sold widely as an oral supplement. We won't tell you what those contain, because we haven't tested them. What we can tell you is what this listing carries: a purity figure, a named laboratory and a batch reference you can ask to see. NAD plus, NAD+ and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide are all the same coenzyme, whatever a label calls it.

Epithalon and Epitalon are one compound with two spellings

You'll see both. They're the same molecule: a synthetic tetrapeptide, four amino acids, sequence alanine-glutamate-aspartate-glycine, often abbreviated AEDG.2 Identity is verifiable through PubChem.3 We list it as Epithalon (Epitalon) so a search for either spelling lands in the right place.

Because the demand splits across both spellings, this compound gets miscatalogued easily. If a supplier lists Epithalon and Epitalon as two separate products, that's worth noticing.

Where the Epithalon research comes from

Epithalon came out of a Russian peptide bioregulator programme. The paper we cite is led by Vladimir Khavinson, who ran that programme, working with co-authors in Italy. A 2020 study in Molecules examined AEDG peptide effects on gene expression and protein synthesis during neurogenesis, and proposed an epigenetic mechanism.2

Read it as what it is: a mechanistic study co-led by the group that developed the compound. That isn't independent replication, and we're not going to present it as more than it is. Where the research on a compound traces back to the people who made it, that's worth knowing before you buy rather than after.

The wider longevity and anti-ageing discussion online treats these compounds as settled. It isn't, and we've kept that framing off this site.

Regulatory status in Canada

Health Canada regulates injectable peptides as drugs and has stated in writing that labelling one "for research use only" doesn't remove it from that regulation.4 Both compounds here are supplied for laboratory research use only, and neither is approved for human or veterinary use.

Compare on price per milligram rather than price per vial, because strengths differ between suppliers and a cheaper vial is often a smaller one. When you order, the batch reference travels on the packing slip, so the report we hold is the report for the vial you open.

Common questions

What are longevity peptides? It's a loose label rather than a chemical class. It covers compounds studied in cellular ageing models, which here means one synthetic tetrapeptide and one coenzyme. Peptide bioregulators and cellular peptides name roughly the same group. None of those labels is a claim that anything slows ageing in a person.

Is NAD+ a peptide? No. It's a dinucleotide coenzyme, CAS 53-84-9. It's stocked here because that's where people look for it, and we'd rather state the chemistry than blur it.

What's the difference between Epithalon and Epitalon? Nothing. Same compound, two transliterations of the same Russian name. We list it under both so either spelling finds it.

Which of these has a certificate of analysis? Both. Epithalon at 98.80% and NAD+ at 98.83%, each with Medutest, each with the batch named. We send the report on request.

Are they safe? No safety profile has been established for either compound as supplied, and a purity assay isn't a safety assessment. An HPLC result covers identity and purity in one lot. It doesn't measure sterility, endotoxin or heavy metals.

Are they legal in Canada? Health Canada regulates injectable peptides as drugs, and research use labelling doesn't change that. Nothing here is approved for use in a person, we won't supply dosing, and buying a vial doesn't make its use lawful.

How long does reconstituted material last? Much less time than sealed lyophilised powder. Reconstitution shortens the usable life considerably, which is why the vials ship as dry powder rather than in solution.
